MATLAB Pole Vault Physics Calculator
In the MATLAB Coding Course at Daytona Beach, FL, from February to May 2023, I independently undertook a project focused on creating a Pole Vault Physics Calculator. This involved programming graphic user interfaces that prompted users for diagnostic inputs, using this information to calculate equipment recommendations and estimate the maximum achievable jump height. The program, designed to assist individuals in the sport of pole vaulting, incorporated a sophisticated combination of energy balance equations, kinematics, and rigid body statics to determine the theoretical maximum jump height based on the user's weight and experience level. This project not only showcased my proficiency in MATLAB coding but also demonstrated the practical application of physics principles to solve real-world problems in the context of sports equipment selection and performance estimation in pole vaulting.
