Balsa Wood Glider Project
Serving as the Project Leader for a team of four at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, FL, I spearheaded the design of a balsa wood glider from February 2023 to May 2023. This project provided an excellent platform for the application of leadership skills as we successfully navigated the intricate process of glider design. Employing Aery32, an R&D Airplane Design Software, we conducted precise aerodynamic calculations, which played a crucial role in achieving a notable glide distance of 86 feet. The inspiration for our design was drawn from the German ASG-29 glider, and the project culminated in our team emerging as winners in the class competition. This experience not only showcased our technical proficiency but also underscored the effectiveness of collaborative leadership in achieving project success.
