Launch Vehicle Project Capable of Low Earth Orbit
As a member of a four-person team at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, FL, I actively contributed to the Launch Vehicle Design Project from February 2023 to May 2023. Our mission was to design a two-stage solid rocket capable of Low-Earth-Orbit payload delivery, tailored to meet specific client requirements. This project stands out as the cornerstone of my portfolio, allowing me to apply the skills acquired in my MATLAB coding class (EGR 115) and CATIA modeling class (EGR 120). Serving as the point person for custom material application, I leveraged CATIA for meticulous modeling, drafting, and application of materials to optimize the vehicle's weight. Furthermore, I applied MATLAB for stage performance optimization and the calculation of thrust and trajectory equations. This project marked a significant milestone in my college career, representing the culmination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise in a collaborative team setting, adhering to ANSI standards for drafting the entire rocket and its stages.
